Claude Champy (b.1944, France) is a graduate of the Parisian School of Crafts. He began his career by working in a faiencerie, then in 1972 dedicated himself entirely to his own experimentation. In 1975, Sarver Gallery, Paris organized the first exhibition of his work and since that time he has exhibited widely and internationally. Exhibitions include the Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris and the Musee National de Ceramique de Sevres. In 1988, Champy received the Grand Prix of the Suntory Museum in Tokyo, Japan. In 2010, he was featured in the show '8 Artists & the Earth' at Galerie XXI, Paris. Champy is recognized as an important French ceramicist. More images coming soon!
Jeff Shapiro (b. 1949, NY) studied ceramic arts while living in Japan. His work has been exhibited internationally in Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Canada and Japan. His work can be found in numerous museum collections including The Sevre Museum, Paris, France; The Carlo Zauli Museum, Faenza, Italy; The Massachusetts Museum of Fine Art, Boston MA; The Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY; The Everson Museum, Syracuse, NY; and The Fuller Museum, Brockton, MA. He has given workshops and seminars in many countries around the world, and has built 2 wood fire kilns in Italy. He has curated in numerous important ceramic exhibitions for us and in conjuction with the Museum of Fine Arts Boston and Harvard Ceramics.
