When asked to be in this exhibition, Ken Eastman the British ceramist went back to Royal Crown Porcelain Factory where he had been invited to work in 2006 to explore new forms.Carefully cutting and joining the freshly cast bone china forms, he created a small series of ‘still life’ compositions. These pieces were fettled, dried, fired, glazed and then fired again at the factory. He decorated each piece individually, working with traditional Royal Crown Derby ‘Blue Aves’ in-glaze lithographs and signed each work with cobalt in-glaze medium, back-stamped them with the Royal Crown Derby crest and the series had their final firing in the factory kilns.
