Teabowls and Sake Cups: A Kindred Spirit
May 5 - May 31, 2012

I would like you to find much difference between clay and other materials such as glass, metal, stone, and wood and how I bring out and express the distinctive feature of clay. I always try to make my works released from preconceived concept. Size, weight, and other functions that my work has are created by such open-mided imagination. However, I also know it is important that I learn from our predecessor's works to elaborate my sensibility. Only if I acquire these elements can good works be made. As a potter I hope you can find your original way to use my pottery. After all, my works become the ultimate works as they are used. I sincerely wish you would enjoy my works and hopefully sympathize with the sensibility that I express.
