Mark Shapiro

Mark Shapiro's work has a functional base that is infused with intensity and intention taking it to the level of art. He is an important link in contemporary American ceramics. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, the Mint Museum and International Museum of Ceramics at Alfred. Shapiro is also an inspired teacher and mentor to young potters.
